  • At Ephemere, we are deeply inspired by the short-lived—the French concept of éphémère—and the Japanese philosophy of mono no aware, which finds a poignant beauty in the impermanence of all things.

We explore this truth as an independent photography platform, advocating meaningful work that bridges deeply personal, communal, and societal narratives through a self-sustaining ecosystem of tactile publications, immersive exhibitions, and engaging dialogues.

Fueled directly by our community through our various initiatives, we anchor this vision through our three permanent pillars—the annual Ephemere Photo Fest, the Photobook Grant, and the Photo Journal—cultivating a space dedicated to what endures.

Ephemere was founded in 2023 by Anne Murayama.
