Small Group Sessions on Making Photobooks is an intensive, 3-part online workshop designed for a closed cohort of three artists. Led by Ephemere founder Anne Murayama acting as your mentor, these sessions focus entirely on the foundational blueprint of a photobook: editing raw image pools, establishing narrative rhythm, and mapping out structural choices for an active project.
The workshop guides participants step-by-step through a fluid workflow that seamlessly blends digital organization with analog exploration. To deeply bridge the gap between live meetings, the mentor will assign targeted homework/tasks to be completed in between sessions. Rather than adhering to a rigid corporate syllabus, the learning process remains entirely organic, with the mentor dynamically adapting the pace to match the real-time progress, learning styles, and unique backgrounds of the registered cohort.
Developed projects may also yield potential opportunities for future Ephemere platform visibility or potential project collaborations, depending entirely on the ultimate readiness and evolution of the work.
To foster a collaborative global environment, the live meeting time slot will be collectively coordinated from three fixed JST windows after the cohort is finalized. Hours will be arranged to best suit all four participants (the mentor plus the three artists) to ensure absolute international fairness across different time zones. Slots are filled on a strict first-come, first-served registration basis. Complete guidelines and the registration form are detailed below.
