📖 About the Program

Join Thilinah for an intimate session of conversation, poetry and writing. Framed by the idea of 'Dearest human,'—a quiet address to anyone, across distance and experience—the session reflects on writing as a way of reaching out and holding onto fleeting moments. In the first hour, he shares selected poems and reflects on writing across places and moments. In the second hour, participants are invited to write alongside the artist in a guided workshop, developing a short poem of their own in response to a deep-sky image—reflecting on distance, connection and what lies just beyond reach, in a quiet sense of mono no aware.

🎤 About the Artist / Speaker

Thilina Heenatigala

Thilina Heenatigala is an academic working at the intersection of astrobiology and society. Alongside his academic work, he writes poetry and prose that explore love, longing and the experience of being between places. Much of his writing is created while travelling—on paper, in cafés and in passing moments—often addressed to someone, yet open to anyone. His work includes short poems and a series of letters from cities around the world, reflecting on memory, distance and connection.
